 في الوقت الذي يلقي فيه رؤساء الدول تصريحات سياسية بليغة في المجمع ذي القبة الذهبية حيث تنعقد القمة التي تضم 176 دولة، وتتحاور منظمات المجتمع المدني ونخبة المجتمع الأكاديمي، إلا أن العمل الحقيقي يجري داخل السرادق المتألق حيث تعرض شركات مثل مايكروسوفت وسن مايكروسيستمز ونوكيا وغيرها أحدث البضائع والأدوات والأنظمة.
